About Us

hrglass (pronounced “hourglass”) started as a frustrated search for a better way to manage projects and get paid. After months of testing tools that almost worked, we stopped searching and started building.

You do everything. We built this for you.

You are the creative. The account manager. The bookkeeper. The one who follows up on unpaid invoices at 10pm while also finishing a client deliverable. If you run your business solo, or close to it, you already know how much mental overhead it takes just to keep the wheels on.

hrglass was built specifically for that person. Not for departments. Not for teams of twenty. For the one person who does it all and needs a tool that actually keeps up.

Our Origin

User first, developer second

The creator of hrglass was running their own freelance business and grew frustrated searching for an app that could handle both project management and invoicing in one place. Everything on the market was either too bare-bones, too bloated, or priced for companies with entire finance teams.

Couldn't find a good fit

Most of those apps were built with larger organizations in mind. Features designed for big teams, pricing tiers that assumed multiple seats, and workflows that made no sense for a single person wearing every hat. Smaller operators were an afterthought, if they were considered at all.

The missing piece

Fixed Rate Tasks

Key feature that was needed

After testing app after app, one gap kept standing out: the ability to assign a fixed rate to a task and have that amount carry directly into a client invoice. It sounds simple. It is simple. And almost no one had built it. For freelancers and small business owners who mix project work with flat-fee services, this was not a nice-to-have. It was essential.

Rather than settle for a tool that was almost right, the decision was made to build something from the ground up. Something designed from day one for the way small operations actually work.

What We Stand For

Built for small, not scaled down

hrglass was not designed for large teams and then trimmed to fit freelancers. It was built from scratch with solo operators and small shops in mind.

One tool, not ten

Your workflow should not require a stack of subscriptions. hrglass consolidates everything so you stay focused on the work, not the tooling.

Priced for real people

Enterprise pricing has no place in a freelancer's budget. hrglass is designed to be powerful without being prohibitive.

Improved by someone who uses it

Every update comes from real daily use. The developer thinks about how to improve hrglass constantly, because their own business depends on it working well.
